Balance of Visible Trade
During the vear 1954 the Colony showed an unfavourable trade balance of $8.323,446. Total Tmports
amounted to $48.763.353 and Total Exports to $40.439,907.

The following table shows the visible trade balances of the Colony for the vears 1950 to 1954. The
Imports include parcel post but exelude Bullion and Coin and intransit trade. The exports include Ships’ Stores
and bunkers but do not include parcel post. for which no figures are available. bullion and coin and intransit
trade.

$2,031,618), The total value of goods imported for home consumption during 1954 was $47,150,428 and for
1953 $42,256,156,
