VACANT POST OF SUPERINTENDENT OF
PRISONS, &7. LUCIA

Applications are invited for the permanent
pensionable post of Superintendent of Prisous. St,
Lucia.

Salary And Allowances

The post carries a salary of $2,850 x $120 —
$3,600 per anntm which is alse subject to a 20%
unerease recently approved. The actual point of
entry in the scale will depend on the qualifications
and experience of the candidate selected. No allow-
anees, either transport or otherwise, are payable.

Quarters, Passages, &c.

Free unfurnished quarters will be provided.
Free first class passages not exccediue five passages
in all, will be provided on first appointment for the
ofticer, hix wife and children who are under ei@hteen
Years of age, unmarried and dependent upon the
officer. The officer’s family shoula accompany lim
or jom him within twelve months of his appoint
ment to qualify for passage concessions,

Leave &c.

The officer will be eligible for vacation leave at
the rate of 45 days for each completed period of 12
months resident service, accumulating up to a
maximum of 180 days. Leave passages will be pro-
vided in accordance with local General Orders.

Qualifications

The candidate should have experience in Prison
Administration and/or traming in some recognised
Prison Officers’ College, ,

Duties

General supervision of the Roval Gaol and the
Prison for Females, the Prison Farm and assunip-
tion of such other responsibilities as may arise from
time to time or as are preseribed in local legislation,
we Phe Act T8388 (1 & 2 Viet. Cap. 67) Chapter
19 of 1916, The officer will also be subject. te
Colonial Regulations, Local General Orders and the
Minaneial Rules in foree in the Windward Tslands:
from time to time.
