(Ch. 265) WHEREAS by Notice No. 180 dated the 21st August, 1952, in the Official Gazette of the 23rd August, 1952 the Governor in Council declared that it was nis intention to acquire all that certain tract or parcel of land containing 3.575 acres more or less and being a portion of a tract of 700 acres granted in 1813 to William H. Williams et al and now said to be the pro- perty of the Roman Catholic Prefect Apostolic of the Baha- mas-which said grant is re- corded in the Crown Lands Of- fice in Book I page 95-and sit- uate near the western coast of the Island of San Salvador in the vicinity of Bonefish Bay Point as outlined on a plan on record in the Crown Lands Of- fice, and by this reference made a part hereof, and more par- ticularly described as follows:- From the east end of the con- crete pier at Cockburn Town go northerly along the main Pub- lic Road known as the Lime- stone Road for a distance of 5,- 871.59 feet to a concrete mon- ument located on the western side of the said Public Road 11.00 feet from its centre, and from this said concrete monu- ment go thence South 85 de- grees 02 minutes East, 966.3! feet to a wooden stake on the southern boundary of the said tract of 700 acres originally granted to William H. Williams which is the point of beginning of the said tract or parcel of land now required for a public purpose. From this point of beginning the boundaries of the said tract or parcel of land extend thence North 04 degrees 58 minutes East 241.00 feet to a concrete monument thence North 84 de- grees 29 minutes East 565.56 feet to a concrete monument, thence South 11 degrees 37 minutes West 346.28 feet to a wooden stake on the southern boundary of the said tract of 700 acres originally granted to William H. Williams, thence along the said southern boun- dary of the tract of 700 acres originally granted to William H. Williams North 85 degrees 02 minutes West 516.00 feet back to the point of beginning which is also situate South 85 degrees 02 minutes East 909.43 feet from the south-western corner of the said tract of 700 acres ori- ginally granted to William H. Williams in 1813. AND WHEREAS claims for compensation have been lodged by the Roman Catholic Prefect Apostolic of the Bahamas with the Colonial Secretary for the said land NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby notified that the se- lected land has been appropri- ated by the Governor in Coun- cil for the purpose mentioned in the said notice with effect from the date of this notice.
