A survey of the signs of beginning maladjustment and procedures which may be followed to correct these ten- dencies. Special attention is given to the prevention and treatment of mental disease. A survey of the history of psychology from the time of the Greeks to the present, covering its background in philosophy, the emergence of psychology as a modern, experi- mental science, and the contributions of movements such as structuralism, functionalism, behaviorism, and Gestalt psychology.
