Traditional and direct continuous measurement procedures for assessing and prescribing remedial programs for children with learning disorders. Classroom situations will be stressed. EDH 676-PRACTICUM II: INDIVIDUAL INSTRUCTION. 3 to 5 credits Prerequisites: EDH 550, EDH 560, EDH 675. Individual remediation pro- gramming with learning disorder children in the classroom using behavioral analysis to determine the effectiveness of instruction. Special emphasis on work with kindergarten and early elementary age children. EDH 677-PRACTICUM III: GROUP INSTRUCTION. 3 to 5 credits Prerequisites: EDH 550, EDH 675, EDH 676, and written request six weeks prior to registration for permission to enroll. Group management procedures and individualizing instruction within groups. EDH 678-PRACTICUM IV: CONSULTATION. 3 to 5 credits Prerequisites: EDH 550, EDH 675, EDH 676, EDH 677 and written request six weeks prior to registration. Helping the regular classroom teacher assess learning disorders and design and implement procedures for their remediation. Special focus of work with nursery, kindergarten and first grade teachers in order to prevent the development of learning disorders and their side effects. EDH 690-SPECIAL TOPICS. 2 to 5 credits Prerequisite: Permission of department chairman. May be repeated with change of content up to a maximum of 15 credits. EDH 704-INTERNSHIP: SPECIAL EDUCATION. 3 to 16 credits EDH 707-SEMINAR IN INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY FOR HANDICAPPED LEARNERS. 2 to 4 credits Prerequisite: EDH 604 and consent of instructor. Recent developments in pro- grammed instruction, teaching machines, multiple channel instructional systems, and computer assisted instruction with particular reference to the education of multiply handicapped learners.
