Shands-Baker Corporation provides two one-year research fellowships with a stipend of $250 per month for Civil Engineering students pursuing a Master of Science degree in engineering. HEALTH AND HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATION Several Public Health Service traineeships are available for eligible students. These traineeships carry a tax-free stipend of $2,400 per year and pay tuition and fees plus dependency allowance. MEDICINE Predoctoral fellowships and part-time assistantships and research positions are available for graduate students in the various basic medical science depart- ments participating in the Ph.D. program. In addition some clinical and basic science departments offer postdoctoral fellowships to a selected number of recent graduates of the M.D. or Ph.D. program who wish extensive research experience in these disciplines. NURSING Traineeships are available through the College of Nursing, by grants from the National Institute of Mental Health and the U. S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, to applicants admitted to full graduate status. Stipends range from $2,400 to $3,600, depending upon the amount of experience the candidate has had in nursing. In addition, non-Florida fees and registration fees are paid. Other federal and state agencies, foundations and health groups, as well as the military services, offer financial assistance.
