General Art Studies Curriculum The B.A. curriculum is designed for students who seek a liberal arts education with an empha- sis in the visual arts. While less emphasis will be placed on studio and design studies than in the B.F.A. program, the curriculum is aimed primar- ily toward experience and understanding rather than professional specialization or preparation for a career in art or design. Students may enter the program up to the junior year. Students who do not pass portfolio review for the B.F.A. may elect to complete the B.A. program. Transfer students with an A.A. degree must complete the additional courses in the basic dis- tribution, including the general education requirement with a grade of C in each course. They may not be taken under the S-U Option. See courses listed in the Schedule of Courses to fulfill these requirements. Critical tracking criteria appears in bold. These courses must be completed in the term specified to remain on-track for the major. FRESHMAN YEAR.
