portfolio of appropriate artwork. The portfolio
will be used as a guide in advising the student
toward an appropriate concentration. At the
end of the sophomore year or 60 hours, all stu-
dents will be required to submit a portfolio
based upon the previous two years art work in
order to be admitted at the 3000 level course
sequence in their concentration. Graphic Design
majors should see the Department of Art advis-
er for additional information on portfolio and
application deadline dates. All majors must
meet Department of Art minimum G.P.A.
requirements.

 All students entering into any of the degree
programs must take ART 1800 and ART 1801.*
Community college students may transfer in
ART 1201, ART 1203, ART 1300 and ART 1301
as a substitute. All students must complete
ARH 2050 and ARH 2051.
 NOTE: Transfer Students: Courses prefixed
ART are not automatically transferable and will
need evidence of achievement (i.e. portfolio).
Only ART 1201, ART 1203, ART 1300, ART 1301
and ARH 2050 and ARH 2051 are automatically
transferable from a community college.
 Students may take two 2000 level studio
 courses before ART 1800 and ART 1801.

 The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree program is
 offered in the following visual arts concentra-
 tions: (a) Printmaking (b) Sculpture, (c) Draw-
 ing, (d) Painting, (e) Ceramics, and (f) Electronic
 Media as well as Creative Photography and
 Graphic Design. Students who plan to enter a
 program of graduate study in art after receiving
 the baccalaureate degree are advised to register
 in one of these programs. Upon completion of
 graduate work, students are qualified for posi-
 tions in museums and art galleries, as instruc-
 tors of art at the college and university level, or
 for independent activity as creative artists.
