Eighty-four percent of the households headed by females received nonemployment income compared with 49 percent of those households headed by males (Table 96). Households whose family heads were male reported nonermploy- ment incomes of medium level less frequently than did households headed by females with larger proportions of their numbers in income classes both below $500 and above $1,500.
