The concentration of households in the medium-income classes was greater among families with no able-bodied females than among other groups the same as when distribution was made on the basis of able-bodied males, Eighty-seven percent of the Type 7 families (no employable male present) received nonemployment income. This group of households accounted for 32 percent of total households and 52 percent of the households reporting income from nonemployment sources. Types 1 and 2 families constituted 59 percent of total households and 37 percent of the households reporting this income source.
