This group constituted 37 percent of total households and 54 percent of the households reporting nonemployment income. Households with no able-bodied males were concentrated considerably more in the medium nonemployment income classes and less in the lower income classes than were households with one or more able-bodied males. Approximately 17 percent of the households with one able-bodied male member reported nonemployment income in excess of $1,500 compared with approximately 10 percent of households in other groups. Approximately the same proportion of households with no able-bodied females (79 percent) reported nonemployment income as did households with no able-bodied males.
