TOMB OF DE FOE IN BUNHILL FIELDS. {Norr.—A monunent to De Foe, erected, by the voluntary subscriptions of seventeen hundred English boys and girls, in Bunhill-fields burial-ground, was “‘ unveiled” by Mr. Charles Reed, M.P. for Hackney, on Friday, September 16, 1870. It consists of an Egyptian column of fine Italian marble, 17 feet high, and at the base 8 feet by 4 feet. The sculptor is Mr. Horner, of Bournemouth. The pillar bears the following inscrip tion:—“‘ Daniel De Foe. Born 1661, died 1731. Author of ‘ Robinson Crusoe.’ ”]
