5.0 PLAN FOR COORDINATING STUDIES, INVESTIGATIONS, RESEARCH,
 AND PREPARATION OF PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL MATERIALS
 RELATING TO THE PRACTICAL NURSING EDUCATION PROGRAM

 Research may be conducted by the teacher-training institutions approved
 to offer in-service teacher training for practical nursing education
 personnel, by county boards of public instruction through the local
 director of vocational education or the local supervisor of practical
 nurse education, and by the State Board for Vocational Education
 through the State Department of Education, when the research is con-
 fined to one of the following areas of study:

 Identifying and determining practical nurse training needs
 Methods of instruction
 Supervision of instruction
 Instructional facilities and materials
 Practical nursing employment and occupation
 Placement and follow-up of trainees
 Standards for the organization and administration of programs
 Measuring effectiveness of instruction
 Selecting and training of teachers
 Methods of coordinating training with hospital and clinical needs
 Any other studies that fight have direct bearing onthe expansion
 and improvement of practical nurse training.

 Such studies shall be published and distributed to those persons con-
 cerned with the nature of the study being developed, and to any other
 persons interested in the practical nursing education program by the
 Educational Materials Laboratory, Division of Vocational and Adult
 Education.
