- 105 - 2.52 Enrollment Requirements. Persons enrolling shall be at least 19 years of age and shall have legally left the full-time school to engage in employment. Enrollees shall be properly licensed as practical nurses by the Florida State Board of Nursing. 2. 53 Plan of Operation. 2.53-1 Character and Content of Subjects Taught in Relation to Needs of Students. The character and content of courses for in-service training of practical nurses are the same as for any other evening trade extension classes, and shall be designed to fit the specific needs of the students. 2.53-2 Arrangement for Instruction in Short Units to Meet Needs of Students. The length of the course and the number of units to be covered for in-service train- ing of practical nurses will be determined by the instructors upon recommendation of the local advisory committee for practical nursing education. Consideration should be given to the employment needs of students so that they may be more adequately prepared to safely serve the public in the capacity of licensed practical nurses. 2. 54 Qualifications of Teachers of Nursing Practice and Theory. 2.54-1 Experience in Nursing. Teachers of in-service courses for practical nurses shall show evidence of a minimum of two years of experience as pro- fessional registered nurses. 2.54-2 Training for Teaching. Such teachers shall have at least a high school diploma or its equivalent, and shall have graduated from an approved school of profe ssional nursing. 2.6 Training in other Health Occupations for Employment in Hospitals or other Health Agencies. 2.61 Purpose in Terms of In-Service and/or Preparatory Train- ing. The purpose of in-service training in other health occupations shall be to up-grade work performance and to increase the efficiency of enrollees in the employ of hospi- tals and/or other agencies.
