The clinical training pro- vided in hospitals or other health agencies shall follow high school graduation and shall be the same as that for the adult program. 2.44-3 Remuneration or Stipend Provided by Employing Hospital During Training Period. Participating hospitals and county boards of public instruction, with the advice and counsel of the Advisory Committee and through cooperative agreement, shall determine if a stipend shall be provided trainees during the clinical period. 2.45 Plan for Coordinating School and Hospital Training. Coordination of school and hospital training shall be a duty of the local supervisor of practical nursing education. In those centers where no local supervisor is available, the coordination shall be performed by the teachers of practical nursing education. 2.46 Qualifications of Teachers of Nursing Practice and Theory who have Coordinating Responsibility. 2.46-1 Experience in Nursing. A teacher of nursing practice and theory who has coordinating responsi- bility shall have had a minimum of two years of professional experience as a registered nurse. 2.46-2 Training for Teaching. Teachers employed to teach nursing practice and theory and who have coordinating responsibilities must be qualified in the area they are teaching and should be approved and recommended by the local advisory committee for practical nursing education. They must be properly certified as full-time teachers of voca- tional education, having a minimum of 20 semester hours of professional courses, exclusive of observation and practice teaching, designed to acquaint individuals with instructional tasks. Of this number, not more than six nor less than three semester hours shall be in the area of general professional education. 2.46-3 Training for Coordination. No specific coordi- nation training requirements have been established for teachers having coordinating responsibilities.
