- 100 - 2.0 PROGRAM OF INSTRUCTION Practical nursing education classes will be operated in two areas, namely, full-time preparatory classes and part-time in-service classes. 2. 1 Courses of Study. 2.11 Procedures for Developing Courses of Study. 2.11-1 Preparatory Training. The curriculum for the preparatory practical nursing course shall be developed with the aid of a state curriculum committee by utilizing all sources of basic information including materials prepared by the United States Office of Education, the National League for Nursing, and the Florida State Board of Nursing. An analysis of current practical nurse functions in hospitals and other agencies will also be used in determining the con- tent of the course of study. 2.11-2 In-Service Training. The same procedure shall be used in developing course of study content for in-service training as for preparatory training. 2. 12 Procedures for Ensuring that Courses Remain Current. Courses will be kept up-to-date through periodic review by the state practical nursing education curriculum committee, or by workshops conducted by approved teacher-training institutions, or by state-wide con- ferences of practical nursing education teachers as listed in "Administrative Policies and Procedures Covering State Board and Approved Vocational Teacher Education Institutions. " 2.2 Plan for Operating the Instructional Program. 2.21 Preparatory Training. Full-time preparatory classes in practical nursing education will be conducted by counties in public vocational schools which have been approved by the Florida State Board of Nursing and the State Board for Vocational Education for this purpose. 2. 22 In-Service Training. In-service classes in practical nursing education will be conducted by counties in public vocational schools which have been approved by the State Board for Vocational Education.
