- 94 - of graduates of four-year college technical institutes or schools of engineering approved by the State Board. In any occupation requiring employees to be licensed by a legally constituted federal, state or local licensing agency, such teachers shall hold a valid license to work in that occupation. 5.22 Professional Training in Technical Education. Non-degree technical laboratory teachers shall have acquired a high school diploma or state certificate of equivalency plus 20 semester hours of teacher training, including a minimum of 14 hours of approved technical teacher-training courses. Non-degree technical laboratory teachers without the necessary professional requirements may be provisionalized for a period not to exceed five years if they possess the required work experience, a high school diploma or state certificate of equivalency, and one approved technical teacher-training course. Holders of baccalaureate degrees in the technical area in which they are to teach shall have completed six semester hours of approved technical teacher-training courses, including one course in philosophy of technical education and one course in methods of teaching technical subjects. Technical laboratory teachers holding baccalaureate degrees, but not having the necessary professional requirements, may be provisionalized for a period not to exceed three years. 5.23 Qualifications of Technical Preparatory Type C Teachers. Teachers of type C technical preparatory classes who teach courses organized for less than 540 hours per year shall meet the same requirements as evening or part-time technical extension teachers. Those teaching classes organized for 540 or more hours per year shall meet the same requirements as other day technical teachers. 6.0 SPECIAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE Each center establishing a technical preparatory program shall have an advisory committee to assist in organizing and giving direction to the program. 7.0 PROGRAMS FOR TEACHER TRAINING No special provisions for the training of technical teachers in addition to those in Section I, 3. 4 and Section V, 4. 0 are presently provided.
