Qualified consultants may be employed on a part-time basis for the training of teachers in specialized areas. 3.3 Qualifications of Teacher Educators. 3.31 Head Teacher Educator. 3.31-1 Professional and Technical Preparation in Home Economics. The head teacher educator shall have received a bachelor's degree in home economics from a college or university approved for training vocational home economics teachers. In addition, this person shall have a master's degree in home economics education. In institutions offering graduate programs, the head teacher educator shall have had nine hours of course work beyond the master's degree. 3.31-2 Experience in Home Economics Programs. The head teacher educator shall have had four years of home economics teaching experience in the secondary schools, two of which shall have been in reimbursed programs. This person shall have had experience in the teaching of adults and shall have had two years of teacher-training or supervisory experience, a part of which shall have been in the area of student teaching. 3.32 Assistant Teacher Educators. 3.32-1 Professional and Technical Preparation in Home Economics. An assistant teacher educator shall possess a bachelor's degree in home economics from a college or university approved for train- ing vocational home economics teachers. In addition, this person shall have a master's degree in home economics education. 3.32-2 Experience in Home Economics Programs. An assistant teacher educator shall possess three years of home economics teaching experience in the secondary schools, two of which shall have been in reimbursed programs. This person shall have had experience in the teaching of adults and shall possess two years of teacher-training or supervisory experience, a part of which shall have been in the area of student teaching.
