Have any of them been definitely rejected by Congress? General MARKHAM. None of them; no, sir. They merely represent what under the emergency authority has been directed by the administration. Mr. BOLoon. How many of them have been before the Rivers and Harbors Committee and been rejected? General MARKHAM. None of them. ATLANTIO-GULF CANAL Mr. BOLTON. As I understand it, the Florida canal has been turned down more than once. General MARKHAM. Perhaps I am thinking in terms of current times. Whether there have been rejections in the past, I do not know.
