His wife, :-Ltilda Alexander ;.al, w-u born in the city of linburgh, in the same country. They never met in the old country, but first became acquainted with each oth- er in At. Louis, Mo., after both had immigrated to America. They were married in the city last named in 1837. 9'rom At.
