dustriously finished her tidying process up-
stairs, and was just putting a last flower here
and there in the vases ; all signs of her late
struggle had passed away, and she greeted
Edith with a pleased smile which considerably
brightened when she heard of the invitation
in store for her. Mrs. Hamilton did not fail
to remark on the good the ride had done
Edith, and added her thanks to Grace for her
kindness, and also her pleasure that her visit
was only postponed for so short a time; so
that Grace felt comforted for her disappoint-
ment, and. retired to rest with a thankful.
