SCOTT, Eldred Floyd


COMPANY I, 124TH INFANTRY
(Manatee County)

Born: 3 March 1922 Manatee, Florida.

Scott had completed eight years of grammar school, lived in
Palmetto and worked as a laborer earning $10 per week when he
enlisted in Company I, 124th Infantry Regiment 9 September 1940.
He was inducted into federal service as a Private 25 November
1940. Later he was assigned to the 179TH INFANTRY REGIMENT, 45TH
INFANTRY DIVISION. He was a Private at the time of his death.

His next of kin included Lula Mae Scott, mother, Palmetto,
Florida.

KILLED IN ACTION; 14 January 1945 Mutterhouse, France.

179th Infantry Regiment 45th Infantry Division


(Following its long deployment in the Italian Campaign, the 45th
moved to France. During December 1944 and January 1945, the
Division was heavily engaged against very strong German defensive
forces in Northeastern France and Rhineland, Germany. Scott was
killed during the bitter struggle struggle for the Bitchie
Salient near Wingen on the Rothbach-Moder River lines).





SELLERS, Luther L.


COMPANY G, 124TH INFANTRY
(Duval County)

Born: 19 October 1920 Jacksonville, Florida.

Sellers had completed two years of high school, lived in
Jacksonville and worked as a carpenter's helper for $12 per week
when he enlisted in Company G, 124th Infantry Regiment 16
September 1940. He was inducted into federal service as a
Private 25 November 1940. Later he was assigned to the 301ST
INFANTRY REGIMENT, 94TH INFANTRY DIVISION. He was a Private 1st
Class at the time of his death.

His next of kin included Mr. and Mrs. Jack Sellers, parents,
Jacksonville, Florida.

KILLED IN ACTION; 27 February 1945 Freudenberg, Germany.
