 CRAWFORD, Roscoe Nepolina


 COMPANY G, 124TH INFANTRY
 (Duval County)

 Born: 7 April 1919 Milledgeville, Georgia.

 Crawford had completed one year of high school, lived in
 Jacksonville, and had worked as a truck driver and a Baker
 earning $22 per week when he first enlisted in'Company G, 124th
 Infantry Regiment 7 February 1938. He was inducted into federal
 service as a Private 1st class 26 November 1940. Later, he was
 assigned to the 19TH INFANTRY REGIMENT, 24TH INFANTRY DIVISION.
 He was a staff Sergeanat at the time of his death.

 DIED OF WOUNDS; 4 June 1945, Philipine Islands.

 19th Infantry Regiment 24th Infantry Division


 (The division was involved in bitter jungle fighting against
 Japanese forces in the vicinity of Davao, Mindanao, Philipine
 Islands from April 1945 until the end of the war. During late
 May and early June, the division was assigned the difficult task
 of clearing the enemy from the Talamo River valley and the key
 town of Mandog where Crawford was killed).

 (Orange County)

 Born: 11 June -1918 Dothan, Alabama.

 Crawford earned his living as a laborer and lived in Winter
Garden when he enlisted in Company K, 124th Infantry Regiment 13
November 1939. He was inducted into federal service 25 November
1940. Later, he was assigned to the 7TH INFANTRY REGIMENT, 3RD
INFANTRY DIVISION'. He was a Private at the time of his death.

KILLED IN ACTION; 1 October 1944, France.

(During the latter part of September and first week of October
1944, the 3rd Division was operating against Germany defenses In
northeastern France in the vicinity of St. Ame and Vageny. It
was during a period of defensive patrols and actions against
local German counter-attacks that Collins was killed).
