There were 30 members and visitors present. A hearty welcome was presented by our Worthy Matron Sister Pam Coleman. One of our members gave a speech about how our fraternal organiza- tion was established. Fellowship and delicious food were enjoyed by all. *4i, It% Masons host Grand Master Right Worshipful Distinct Grand Master of District 5 Brother Parry Dolan held a reception .for Robert D. Trump, The Most Worshipful Grand Master of the State of . MFlorida, in Altha at the Community Center on August 25. Blouhtstown Chapter 179 Order of the Eastern Star assist- ed with the arrangements. Over 100.masons, wives and Eastern Star members attended this function. Entertainment with singing and musical songs was per- formed by James Williford, son of Sister Alice Williford, member of Blountstown Chapter 179 Order of the Eastern Star. Everyone enjoyed good food and wonder- ful fellowship. Donations were presented by the various Masonic Lodges to the Most Worshipful's special project, diabetes. After dinner, the brothers traveled to Red Level Lodge for a tyled meeting. With all the donations presented for diabetes from each district throughout the state, the Fifth Masonic District was leading. Senior Citizens plan fish fry, fall festival, and shopping trip Fall Festival at Senior Center On Tuesday, October 31 (Halloween Day) beginning at 10:30 a.m. we will have our famous annual Fall Festival with lots of good food, fun games and prizes, as well as, a cake walk. General Membership Meeting . Calhouh -County Senior Citizens will be holding their quarterly General Membership Meeting on Tuesday, October 17th at 8:00 a.m. This is your opportunity to sit in on a Board of Directors meeting and see what's going on and learn what -the senior citizens organization is all about. Swamp Gravy Christmas Show We have planned a trip to Colquitt, GA for the Swamp Gravy Christmas Show. on Thursday, November 30. It will be a daytime show so we will be leaving the Center at approximately 9 a.m. and return around 5 p.m. Cost is $59, per person which. includes show, lunch, and transportation. Nutrition Education Monica Brinkley will be here on Monday, October 16, to bring us another fun and educational lesson on better eating habits. ,'She will be here at 11 a.m. so please be on time so you won't her. Fish Fry Senior Citizens will hold a fund raiser on October 13, for only $6.00 per plate. Plates will consist of catfish, hush puppies, cole slaw, baked beans, roll, cake). Shopping trip Our shopping trip this month will be on Thursday, October 19, to Panama City. We will leave the Center at 8:30 a.m. and head out to Wal-iMart and Goody s. We brought back seventeen out of a possible twenty one awards including first and second place in the team division along with many individual awards. Daniel Leonard brought home 1st place awards in Forest Disorders, Equipment ID,, Tree, ID, and General, Knowledge. It will be on an evaluation day so feel free to come out and support the Tigers. To advance to on to the next round of District, the team will have to place in the top three. Mr. Botitrager, the coach, is looking for Erik Anderson to place, since he has already placed 1st or 2nd in 6 of the 8 previous matches. He is also looking for the girls team to place.
