Neal Civic Center. Cristina is the daughter of the late Cathy Buchanan of Blountstown. He is the grandson of the late Frank Norris of Foley, AL, the late Camilla Norris of * Chattahoochee, and the late Coleman and Irene Johnson of Blountstown. Cristina is a 2002 gradu- ate of Blountstown High School and is currently in the Nursing' Program at Chipola College. See you Thursday at the Civic Center at 11:4511 Torreya Garden Club members met Monday, September 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the County Extension building. Pres. Sandra Parrish presided. Pres. Parrish welcomed everyone to the Club's first meeting of the 2006-07 year. She also introduced two guests from the Marianna Garden Club - District 2 Director Mrs. Juanita Sanson and Mrs. Betty Pettis, Awards Chairperson and "Calendar Girl." Mrs. Sanson updated the clubwomen on the summer activities and the future plans and projects for Florida's Garden Club. In ~2; ~4~j closing, Mrs. Sanson urged members to invite other civic- minded women to join Torreya Garden Club. Her slogan is: "Keep Rolling, Bloom, Branch Out!" Mrs. Pettis gave detailed information on the various awards local clubs can win. Check with your Awards Chairperson and apply. As "Calendar Girl" Mrs. Pettis displayed the calendar designed and arranged by FFGC District Directors. Calendars may be purchased at the end of the meeting. Alice Williford gave the Devotions. she read, "I believe in the sun even when it does not shine. I believe in love when it is not shown. She closed with a prayer after which James Williford led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. Everyone efljoyed the tasty "goodies" and the orange-col- ored punch. Sandra displayed the Club's Yearbook which will be distributed later. Mildred Guilford was elected Parliamentarian to replace Brenda Stallworth. The District 2 Fall Meeting will be held at the Graceville Civic Center Thursday, October 12th. Contact Sandra about attending. Club members voted to continue maintenance of the courthouse flower bed which they installed years ago.
