NOVEMBER 25,2004 THE COURIER 11 DEATHS Cliburn James H. Cliburn Sr., 75, of Plant City died Nov. 17. He was born in Westmore- land, Tenn., and was a long- time resident of this area. He served in the Marine Corp during the Korean War. He was owner of Cliburn's Floor Installation. He was president, umpire and coach for Miss Softball America for many years. He was a Scout master for several years and was-a member of the PTA at J.S. Robinson Elemen- tary. He is survived by a son, James "Jimmy" Jr.; two daugh- ters, Judi Culpepper and Joa- nett Wiker; a brother, Raymond; a sister, Betty Sue Wiggins; 10 grandchildren; and three great great grand- children. Hopewell Funeral Home. Danley James C. Danley, 79, of Plant City died Nov. 15. He was born in Opp, Ala., and was a longtime resident of Plant City. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Inez; a son, James A. of Plant City; three daughters, Cheryl and Charlotte Holland, both of Plant City, and Barbara Wan- sley of Powell, Tenn.; two brothers, A.J. "Junior" of Plant City and Joseph of Jack, Ala.;' five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Hopewell Funeral Home. Hoffman Walter "Terry" Hoffman, 68, of Plant City died Nov. 12. He was born in Benton Harbor, Mich., and came here from Saginaw, Mich., 12 years ago. He was a veteran of the Army and a metallurgist for General Motors Corp. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, United Way, Special Olympics and Junior Achievement in Michigan, and was a board member for Walden Lake. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; two sons, T. Keith of Camden, Ark., and Gregory M. of Waldorf, Md.; a daughter, Georgen K. Wigen of Lutz; two brothers, Rudy of Tennessee and David of Michigan; a sister, Lynda Ficca of Chicago; 10 grandchildren; and a great- grandchild. Wells Memorial Funeral Home. Maggard Jasper P. "Jack" Maggard, 80, of Plant City died Nov. 7. He was born in Norton, Va., and was a longtime resident of this area. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 17th and 82nd Airborne divi- sions. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; two sons, Michael L. of Dover and Gary W. of Bush- nell; two daughters, Patricia Abbott of Woodstock, Ga., and Susie Lawrence of Deland; a brother, Robert L. of Somer- field; a sister, Colleen Ellis of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; six grand- children; and five great grand- children.
