"The new express lanes will bring congestion relief and give drivers more choices for a better commute on this im- portant highway in south Florida ," said Secretary La- Hood. "This project is part of the Obama Administration's commitment to reviving the economy and putting Ameri- cans back to work." The loan will help build three reversible "high-occu- pancy toll" (HOT) lanes in the median along 10.5 miles of 1-595 running east-west and linking two key inter- changes on 1-75 and 1-95. Be- cause the tolls will vary ac- cording to traffic volume DCSO Arrests Minor For Selling Lortab to informant Cross City, Florida- On March 4, 2009, the Dixie County Sheriff's Office, Narcotics Unit served an arrest warrant in the Cross ' City area. Delivery to Old Town area preferred. Call Kathy 542-0103 or email kathymckinney@hughes.net throughout the day, drivers using the new lanes will en- joy less traffic congestion. The lanes will be built as part of a public-private part- nership between the Florida Department of Transporta- tion and ACS Infrastructure Development that will make the improvements possible 15 years sooner than under con- ventional means. The agree- ment calls for ACS to fi- nance, build, operate and maintain the project for a 35-: year term. The Florida De- partment of Transportation (FDOT) will set and collect the tolls on the facility and make payments to ACS annu- ally based on its successful operation of the road. Secretary LaHood said the loan, made possible by the Transportation Infrastruc- ture Finance and Innovation, Act (TIFIA), helped to lever- age well over $750 million in private bank debt and over $200 million in private equity for the project's projected ' cost of $1.8 billion. The loan provides low-cost, fixed-rate financing with flexible repay- ment terms to the private - partner and reduces costs to FDOT. "This is just the latest example of this Administra- tion's commitment to getting Amenricans back to work," Secretary LaHood added. Pagel0 AOM% 6 Nw4
