Local atx Cowiv Thursday June 26, 2008 From FOWLER, page one Due to my Instructor qualifications I quickly progressed within the de- partment, in 1995, I was promoted to Training Su- pervisor at Mayo C.I.. A few years later, I was pro- moted to my current po- sition. As the consultant and academy coordinator for five institutions, I am responsible for the super- vision and instruction of up to fifty officer recruits at any given time. Train- ing courses include Poli- cy & Procedure, Opera- tions, Emergency Pre- paredness, Communica- tions, and Interpersonal Skills & Human Diversi- ty To better serve you as your Dixie County Tax Collector I possess and utilize all of the above skills daily I really take pride in the Human Di- versity and Interpersonal Skills section of training. In our ever-changing so- ciety it is important that we focus on all people and the needs that each possess. Prior to joining the De- partment of Corrections, I was the office manager and a designer at Marie's Floral Designs, in Cross City For eight years, I supervised up to sixteen employees and kept the office running smoothly My first job out of school was clerk at Cross City Office Supply Several years later I opened and operated Photography by p..r - ^ Lisa for 5 years until came pregnant with: ra. Within few short years, I bec Assistant Manager o: two additional prope: ties. My experience office setting, manag employees, dealing w the financial aspect o business and working; through projects unt: completion will provi most valuable for the sition I am seeking. Golden Rule. In both campaigning and with your support, serving as your Tax collector, there is nothing more impor- tant than the Bible adage: Treat others as you would have them treat you. If each of us treat- ed our fellow citizens as we would like to be treat- ed, wouldn't the world be a far better place? With your help, when elected, my office would strictly follow this policy As a public servant, this is of utmost importance. Perhaps you've noticed, at the Dixie Kwik Pik we make it a priority to in-' still in our employees an attitude of servitude. The first thing we tell our workers is to always be friendly, smile, and genuinely say "Thank you, please come back to see us". We tell them, that we would like to be known as the friendliest store in town. I am a great believer in being gracious, polite, and as helpful as possible in all situations. This brings me to a point that my mother made as I was discussing my candidacy with her. "Lisa," she said, "You will either WIN the election and be- come the Dixie County Tax Collector or you will WIN friends through meeting and greeting the great citizens of this county and having this invaluable experience. Either way you'll be a WINNER." I am not afraid of new challenges or hard work; actually, I thrive on both. 5 If you know me, then you &' know how true this is. It would be an honor and Smy pleasure to serve you in this capacity I appre- ciate your time and will- ingness to get to know me a little better and am looking forward to visit- ing with you further. At your convenience, I will enjoy speaking with you discussing your com- I be- ments and concerns.
