A total of eleven boys from the pack's wolf and bear dens competed in the event in which 'gravity powered cars were raced down a 30 ft. regulation track.' S-/ The boys, with the help of their parents, had worked -, ,,. for weeks building the model '' r cars, which were designed and carved from blocks of .' ".,' . ..l wood and then sanded, A painted and detailed. After ... inspection and registration of ,',' "... .,.... '' the cars, the boys waited S- eagerly for the first heat to be S. announced. At the end of the double 4" 1 <- *- : v ": 4. elimination contest, the top .,four cars in each division were declared and the winners were awarded trophies. Certificates and ribbons were also awarded for Best Design, Best Paint Job, and Best Anniversary Entry. After the official pack race, the boys continued to race their cars "just for fun" as friends and older and younger siblings joined in with their cars. The winners will go on to compete at the district level pinewood derby to be held at Scoggins Chevrolet in Chiefland on Saturday, March 19th. / The parents and boys would like to thank several people for their help in making this year's derby a success.
