Cell phone technology evolves so fast, most folks probably have at least one (if not several) old phones sitting in a drawer somewhere, just taking up space...and probably they have no idea what to do with them or where to recy- cle them. Now they can recycle those phones to help find a cure for cancer. That's right. By rounding up those old cell phones and dropping them off at the collection box in Madison County Community Bank, people can help raise money in the fight against cancer. The American Cancer Society and Cellular Recycler have created a unique program to raise money by collecting and reselling old cellular phones collect- ed from people who no longer need or want them. Every unused phone donated equals a direct donation to the American Cancer Society In the United States alone, there are an estimated 130 million old cell phones sitting around collecting dust. That represents about three billion dollars in valuable technology going to waste, which could be put to use raising money for cancer research. To donate your old cell phone, take it to the Madison County Community Bank, 301 E. Base Street, any time during business hours.
