And when they had set to work to make ©
their tower, and to build and to carry out their
plan, the Lord God showed it to be His will
that their buildings should never be com-
pleted.

“Instead of letting them go on speaking
the same language, God caused them to begin
to speak with different tongues, so that they
might not understand each other; and this
caused such a confusion that they gave up
their plan altogether.

“They separated, and went some one way,
some another; I suppose they divided them-
selves into parties speaking the same tongue.
And in this way they came to be scattered
all over the earth, as they had determined
not to be.

“See, Stephen, their story only teaches
some more of the same lesson we have had
before—‘ Do not be in too great a hurry to
arrange things for yourselves, and to get your
own way. Have patience, and see what is
God’s will for you. Begin again. Begin
again.’
