Several years ago, the high-schools in Madison and Greenville joined together to form one school and christened it Madison County
High; "When the athletes throughout the county finally began to play together, the Cowboys became almost unbeatable.
Fort White hosts Madison County at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the opening game of the regular season.
Madison County High has made the playoffs every year since 1995. The Cowboys have won two
state championships and placed second three times.
Fort White's history with Madison County, began in 2005-08, when the schools were in the same district.
'the Cowboys won the district all four years, and Fort White made the playoffs as runner-up in 2007, Demetric Jackson's first season as head coach, and again in 2008.
