 Report: Motorcyclist

 dies after crashing

V and being hit by truck


From staff reports
 A Lake City man died
after crashing his motor-
cycle and getting hit by
a truck Sunday morning,
according to reports.
 Kevin A. Daugherty,
30, was pronounced dead
at the scene of the crash,
reports say.
 The crash occurred at
2:15 a.m. Sunday on U.S.
Highway 90, about a tenth
of a mile east of Country
Road 100-A.
 According to Florida
Highway Patrol reports,
Daugherty, in a 2006 ASPT
motorcycle, and David
Hogan of Wellborn, in a
2009 Mack semi-tractor,
were both traveling east-
bound on U.S. Highway 90.


 Daugherty allowed the
motorcycle to drift to the
right striking the concrete
curb on the eastbound side
of the roadway, reports
say.
 The motorcycle went
down on its right side, and
Daugherty was ejected into
the roadway. He landed in
the inside lane of eastbound
U.S. Highway 90.
 Hogan was traveling in
the inside lane. Reports say
he did not see Daugherty
lying in the roadway.
 Hogan was not injured in
the wreck.
According to reports,
Daugherty was not wear-
ing a helmet. Charges are
pending a traffic homicide
investigation.


Fuel stolen from fire truck


had been parked overnight
at the southwest corner
of Alachua and Madison
Street.
 The Lake City Police
Department is investigat-
ing.
 Anyone with information
about the incident is asked
to contact the LCPD TIP

 Fuel was reported sto-
len from a Lake City Fire
Department truck on
Monday.
 Battalion Chief Henry_
Rossell said an unknown
suspect stole about 35 gal-
lons of diesel from one of
the fire trucks. The truck
