In 1959 he was appointed City Clerk; of Palatka, Florida and served as City Manager from 1960, to 1970. He served as City Manager of Naples, Florida from 1970 1976. In 1976 he was employed by Temple Steel Company as business manager for the Naples division. In 1978, he fulfilled a lifelong dream of owning his own business. He established Southwest Property Management Corporation with his son, Steve. Over the next 20 years they grew the business to the largest community management business inNaples. In 1998, he retired and moved to St. Augustine, Fl. During his 'career he served, as President of the Florida City Managers Association, President of Kiwanis Club of Palatka, and Chairman of the United Way o' 'Collier County.
