Page Editor: Chris Bednar, 754-0404 LAKE CITY REPORTER SOCIAL SUNDAY, JANUARY 1, 2006 A look back and a look ahead in By JOAN FETCHEN Special to the Reporter This is the time of year when we all take stock and then forge ahead with exciting plans for the future. Here at the Alfonso Levy Performing Arts Center (PAC), we are doing the same. So for those of you who did not have time to attend the wonderful events that have taken place in the center in fall 2005, here's what you missed. The Performing Arts Center celebrated its 25th anniversary and sponsorship of the Lyceum Series by First Federal Savings Bank of Florida. A special dinner with 135 guests and the LCCC Jazz Band honored First Federal's partnership with the college. After the dinner, the 2005-06 season was kicked off with a performance by Elisabeth von Trapp before 400 ticket hold- ers. Joan Rountree of Lake City said, "Her performance was extraordinary." The von Trapp performance was followed by Ritz Voices from Jacksonville. They were truly a majestic experience. Ritz Voices consisted of performers from ages 7 to 24. They received three standing ovations from an audience of 350 members for their last three songs. Indeed, they inspired all of us. Comedian and magician David Kaplan brought his humor and skill at illusion in November to the PAC stage. He amused the audience of 300 with his wit and hilarious deadpan comedy. He even went into the audience to include audience members in his act He invited several guests to join the fun, including Molly and Sarah Reichert. Of course, as tradition has it, LCCC's Fall Choral Concert took place under the direction of choral director Owen Wingate. And following quickly upon the heels of the choral concert, LCCC band director Harry Wuest performing arts presented "" Swanson, "At Rest." his annual Looking ahead to 2006, th "A Musical first art exhibition of the yea Christmas ,_. in the Visual Arts Gallery wi with be the artwork Candace Friends." *..
