Tickets are $30 per person and may be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce office. A big thanks to Bruce Naylor for his leadership this past year. He along with Chuck Hall and 2007 President-Elect Keith Brown have worked to put programs in place that will continue to be a part of the chamber issues. Each of them believes that continuity is important and they placed a lot of empha- sis on finding ways to work as a team to make this happen. As we continue to grow as a community, we will continue .- to see new challenges. Everyone is aware of the efforts that are being made to upgrade and increase the ** capacity for wastewater treat- ment. In addition, the county and water management dis- S trict are working together to find better ways to deal with storm water run off and retention. With the efforts going on between the city, county and private development to find solutions to the waste water effort, the county is moving forward with making utilities at the Ellisville interchange a reality. This will change how this intersection is developed for future use. As 2005 comes to a close, we want to once again send our congratulations to Hunter Panels LLC and S&S Food Stores for their statewide recognition from the governor and fi-om the retail associa- tions. These two businesses are great examples of the good businesses that call Columbia County home. In addition, it is good to see new companies like New Millennium continuing to grow along with Town Homes. At the same time, companies like TIMCO, Homes of Merit, Anderson Columbia and oth- ers continue to grow and make strong impacts, on our area. Congratulations to Mike Gwynn and his wife, Kathy, on their upcoming return to North Carolina. While it is a good move for the Gwynns, our area will lose a good com- munity friend for the area and an excellent teacher from Melrose. They will both be missed, but have made many friends during their years in our community. I had a chance to have a quick visit with Emma Ellinwood, the Chamber's for- mer goodwill ambassador, administrative assistant and wealth of information. She and her family are doing well and she has two grandchildren that are close to perfect. Emma was a valuable person to me. She knew more about a Chamber than I will probably ever be able to learn. It was great to see she is doing well. We also lost board member Fred Lawson, who retired and returned to his former home in Tennessee. He was a great community supporter and we will miss his hard work and support that he provided. I also want to take the time to say thanks to the families of W. L. Summers and Virginia Bishop. They were two great community supporters that will be missed. They made a major difference in how our community has grown and prospered. Thanks to the fam- ilies for sharing them with us. The Chamber is pleased to welcome the following new members: Clough Harbour & Associates, LLP; Columbia Motorsports Park FASCAR; Comprehensive Pain Management of North Florida; Farmer's Furniture; Mike's Tastee Hot Dogs; North Florida Homeland Realty; Volunteers of America of Florida.
