JAX AIR NEWS, NAS JACKSONVILLE, Thursday, November 13, 2008 19 Dance your way to fit By QM2 Nicole Soto Assistant Editor N AS Jacksonville Fitness Center is at it again. Bringing the hippest and most up to date fitness programs to our installation. The fitness center now offers the Zumba Fitness, a new workout craze that combines pulsating Latin rhythms with fun-to-follow dance moves. Every Wed. at 11:15 a.m. and Thurs. at 4:15 p.m., Cecille "CeCe" Hartsell enthusiastically leads the Zumba Fitness class. "This class is great way to stay in shape and have fun. I was surprised at how grueling of work- out it really was," said IT2 Theresa Robles of the NAS Jacksonville Security Manager office. Zumba Fitness, founded by celebrity fitness trainer and choreographer Alberto Perez, features interval training sessions with fast and slow rhythms. Various styles of Latin dance are incorporated including, cumbia, meringue, salsa, reggae ton, and flamenco. The class lasts an hour and is an excellent aerobic workout. The goal of Zumba is to have fun as you regain or keep your shape. If you're looking for a new way to get in shape or catch a Zumba class at the fitness center. All you have to lose are some pounds and a lit- tle sweat. Photos by QM2 Nicole Soto Hilda Simmons watches the other students as she learns the unique rhythms of Zumba. There were lots of smiles and per- speration throughout the class. Lisa Starks worked hard to keep up while learning new dance moves in the Zumba Fitness class.
