Corey Schultz, public affairs officer for the 300th Military Police Brigade, enjoys chai (sweetened tea) and a fresh pita at the bread factory at Camp Bucca in south- ern Iraq. Camp Bucca, the largest detention facility and one of the largest Forward Operating Bases in Iraq, provides for the care and custody of over 20,000 detainees determined to be threats to security. About 140,000 pieces of bread are baked daily. Schultz is a civilian employee with Commander, Navy Region Southeast Public Affairs and is mobilized in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Intramural League open to active duty, selective reservists and command DoD personnel. Women's League open to active duty, selective reservists, military dependents over 18 and DoD. Tennis tourney slated A Captain's Cub Men and Women's Singles Tennis Tournament will be held March 31 at 5 p.m. The tournament is open to all NAS Jax active duty, selective reservists, and command Department of Defense men and women. Participants will earn participation points for their command toward the captain's cup and can earn additional points for finishing first, second or third place. Navy Southeast Regional Running and Triathlon Team Are you a competition runner? If so, you can represent the Navy in 5K, 10K, marathons and triathlons. The Navy will showcase elite active duty men and women in regional races. Uniforms are provided as well as transportation, entry fees and lodging costs. Interested runners must compete in a sanctioned (USA Track and Field, USA Triathlon Association, or Roadrunners Clubs of America) race and your time must be one of top 10 regional qualifying times.
