10 JAX AIR NEWS, NAS JACKSONVILLE, Thursday, March 20, 2008 IT. T. sponsors annual travel fair By Kaylee LaRocque Editor The 18th annual Information, Tickets and Travel Fair was held Saturday as hundreds of visitors to the Navy Exchange complex stopped in to check out what was being offered at this year's event. They found a variety of booths manned by repre- sentatives from area hotels, attractions and base rec- reational departments all offering information and military discounts on their establishments. VyStar Credit Union was the offi- cial sponsor of the event. "We are out here today because it gives out patrons, the military com- munity, an opportunity to visit with our vendors and to learn about the tickets and hotel vouchers that we offer through I.T.T.," said I.T.T. Manager Genevieve Bustos. "It's a great event because we offer discounts and spe- cials that they may not be able to get out in the com- munity. Plus, the fee that we charge for all our events is a flat rate, there are no taxes or other charges like when you purchase on the Internet or through other companies," she added. "We have vendors here from area attractions such as Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, Busch Gardens, Kennedy Space Center, several dinner shows, Florida State Parks and numerous hotels," con- tinued Bustos. "We just stopped here by chance. We just got sta- tioned here so the travel fair was very helpful. I had no idea there were this many cool things to do in the area," said FC1(SW) N N r ~ D ~tqz. - l - l Photos by Kaylee LaRocque ATCS(AW) John Carter of VS-32 and his sons, Brandon (center) and Jacob talk to some of the vendors at this year's I.T.T. We are interested in going to Medieval Times and the Daytona Raceway so we just stopped at their booths and got some details on the attractions," added ATCS(AW) John Carter of VS-32. Several door prizes were given out during the event. As visitors, checked out the various booths, they got a special passport stamped. After getting 15 stamps, they were eligible to win an assortment of prizes donat- ed by the vendors. If you missed this year's travel fair, next year's event is already in the planning stages.
