JAx AIR NEWS, NAS JACKSONVILLE, Thursday, March 13, 2008 23 Bridge troll part of car dealer conspiracy GREEN COVE SPRINGS- As it turns out, there's more to the story of the troll that's been harassing people trying to cross the bridge to Green Cove Springs. Word is out that a group of car dealers, all competitors of the Garber AutoMall, held a private meeting to discuss tactics to get their market share back from Garber. Ever since Garber built their giant new auto mall on highway 17, just 5 miles south of Orange Park, people are heading there for a better selection and lower prices. One of the Garber's competitors came up with the idea of hiring an evil troll to stop people from crossing the bridge. Jenny Barnett of Orange Park, a recent customer of Garber, said the troll jumped over the guard rail and ran into the middle of the street as she was approaching the bridge. She thought the troll was actually kind of a cute little thing try- ing to be a bad guy. While the troll initially acted tough and wouldn't move, he quickly jumped out of the way as she punched the gas pedal of her Ford F-150. "That little pur- ple-haired critter isn't going to stop me from getting a negotiation free deal at Garber" Jenny said. She got to Garber, no problem, and said she saved a fortune compared to dealers selling the same brands.
