The Hamilton County native was born May 4, 1929, to the late Paul and Berta Smith King. He was the owner and oper- ator of. King's Grocery Stores for many years. Mr. King was a veteran of the United States Airl Force and was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents and. a sister, Elsie Scaff. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Emma King of Jennings; one daughter, Debbie Liv- ingston of Panama City, Florida; three sons: Tim- my King of Lake Park, Georgia, Mickey King of Jennings, and Paul King of Statenville, Georgia; one sister, Helen Selph of Jennings; 13 grand- children and seven great-grandchildren. VFW Post 8095 has successful turnout Members of VFW Post 8095 report that 54 boxes were packed and mailed this past week to two dif- ferent American units in Afghanistan, both in re- mote areas. Post Com- mander Lamar Royals commented how much the community and vari- ous churches' support means. "Their generosity of items for the boxes and checks to help with the postage makes it all possi- ble," he said. "It is truly a community-wide effort."
