arrested in Alabama


Sought on charges

  Police responding to a minor traf-
fic accident in Alabama found that
the man involved was wanted here
on charges of child molestation. Bil-
ly Ray Rogers, 63, was extradited
back to Jasper on July 10, where he
was formally charged with four


of child molestation
   felony counts: two counts of lewd or
   lascivious molestation of a child and
   two counts of lewd or lascivious
   conduct on a child: solicitation.
   Rogers was booked into the Hamil-
   ton County Jail and later released on

should improve
considerably with
the addition of a
new EMS station in
Jennings.
  According to
County Coordinator
Danny Johnson,
Commissioner Ron-
nie Morgan played
the key role in the
opening of the sta-
tion. Working close-
ly with EMS Direc-
tor Edgar Lumpkin,
response time for
emergency services
provided to Zone 3
has been greatly im-
proved.
  A two-person

  Ross, a resident of Hamilton
County since 1975, says she is
looking forward to reporting
on topics of interest to our
community. As a parent, youth
leader and former law enforce-
ment officer, Ross has a broad
based understanding of the
problems that face our area res-


idents as well as the need for
recognition of jobs well done.
  "By working together, resi-
dents, media, our local law en-
forcement and area leaders can
stay well informed on current
issues.and.build a stronger
community," said Ross. "Let's
put the hometown feeling back
into our local paper."
  Ross joins administrative as-
sistant Candice Pike at the
newspaper office. Together
they will strive to provide in-


formation to our community in
a fair and timely manner.
