DA A- N LL.I I RS TO THE EDITOR Dear Editor: We folks in Hamilton County have a chance to change our future. An elec- tion in September will give us the opportunity to vote out those rascals that are not doing the job they were elected to do. When a politician tells me that the only reason to vote them in is because of their pedigree, something is wrong. I want to know where they stand on issues, and what they will try to accomplish over the next four years. I don't care if it is the school board, county com- missioners, county judge, or the city council. If after eight years they are unable to claim that they as an in- dividual made a significant change for the betterment of our community, then that individual needs to hit the road, and new blood needs to come in and give it a go. The leadership of the past has made our Hamilton County what it is today; if you are not happy with it, now is the time to change it. . You as an elector have the power to force the change. The right to vote has been kept secure. all these years by the individ- ual who was willing to die to protect it, don't through that right away. Roy Yancey Jasper Dear Editor: On behalf of the Hamil- ton County Memorial VFW Post 8095, I extend our sin- cere appreciation to all the candidates who participat- ed in our non-partisan po- litical rally Thursday, Aug. 10, and to everyone who came to the rally. It was a great opportunity for our community to meet with the candidates and become better informed voters. It is our hope that everyone will exercise their right to vote in the upcoming elections. The VFW also wishes to thank Jasper Foodway, Jasper Hardware, Banks of the Suwannee, and Hamil- ton Printing for their contri- butions to the Post for our fund raiser drawing, and thanks also to Vonnie Wood and Kanoye Capps for providing their beauti- ful music for the program, and Marty Wood for setting up the sound system. We were so humbled by the presentations to the Post of a special American flag flown in the Middle East by returning veteran Mike Williams, as well as, the framed art work hon6r- ing veterans presented by Laura Deas, Supervisor of Elections. We are very grateful to our community for sup- porting the VFW in all of our endeavors. Lamar Royals, Commander Post 8095 Early voting begins Aug. 21 Early voting begins Aug. 21 and ends Sept. 2, at the Supervisor of Elec- tions office in the court- house annex (F.S. 101.657).
