Catholic Charities is committed to meeting the needs of individuals and families in the rural coun- ties of north central Flori- da. The Faith RV is a food pantry on wheels that vis- its local towns and cities to provide food to the hungry and the homeless. Local churches, missions, senior centers and the lo- cal agencies serve as a base for the distribution of the food. Clients need to bring a photo I.D. and a Social Security card for each member of their house- hold. No photo I.D. is re- quired for children. The Citadel Gospel Choir from the military college in South Carolina will make a special guest appearance at the event. Approximately 30 cadets sing in the choir, which performs at many comn- munity events. Ferres Lumpkin, choir vice-president, is< the' daughter of Emily Lump- kin and graduated from HCHS in 2003. She. will graduate from the Citadel this year. Lumpkin wants to reach out to the youth in the county. When she learned that the Citadel Choir was touring Florida, she said, "You must go to my hometown." Kylie Williams, Miss Daytona Beach, will be a guest speaker. Alex Brown from the Chicago Bears is providing door prizes. Several youth groups from the commu- nity will also perform.
