Bailey, age 85, of Jasper, Florida, passed away Tuesday, No- vember 8, 2005, at his home following an extend- ed illness. He was a native and longtime resident of Madison County. Mr. Bai- ley was born on February 11, 1920, to the late Boyt and Julia Bailey. He served two terms on the Board of County Commissioners in Madison and worked for the Madison County School District in the main- tenance department. Mr. Bailey was a former mem- ber of First Baptist Church in Madison before moving to Jasper where he joined the First Baptist Church of Jasper and was a faithful member. , Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mary Lu- cas Bailey of Jasper; one daughter and son-in-law: Norma "Jeannie" and Ed Muller of Alexandria, Vir- ginia; one sister: Gloria Sellers of Thomasville, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Sunday, November 13, 2005, in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home with Reverend Gene Stokes and Dr. Bill Floyd officiating. Mrs. Phyllis Harris played the piano for the service and Mrs. Arlet- ta Kline and Mrs. Juana Williams sang "My House Is Full." Interment followed at Elizabeth Cemetery in Jef- ferson County. Pallbearers were: Jackie Kline, Ron Fort, Carl Rudser, Clay Warren, Henry Groll and Farrell Burnam. Harry T. Reid Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mintie Allison Johnson Mintie Allison Johnson, 96, of Hamilton County, Florida, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2005, in Bay Breeze Nurs- ing Home, Gulf Breeze, Florida, after a long illness. The Suwannee County na- tive lived in Hamilton County most of her life, was a homemaker and a Community Thanksgiving dinner The annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner and Worship Service, sponsored by the Hamilton County Ministerial Alliance, will be held at the his- toric Jasper First United Methodist Church on Sun- day, Nov. 20. The dinner begins at 6 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. Please bring a dish or dessert to share. The turkey will be provided. A festive feast with all the trimmings is guaranteed. Worship service will follow in the church sanctu- ary, including area choirs and soloists. The offer- ing gathered this year will be used to buy food for area residents in need this Christmas. Contribution checks should be made out to Hamilton County Ministerial Alliance (HCMA). Christmas food box- es will be prepared Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Harvest Fellowship Church. Horace Corbett Dees Horace Corbett Dees, age 90, of Jasper, Florida, passed away Friday, No- vember 11, 2005, in Cony- ers, Georgia, following an extended illness. Mr. Dees was born November 5, 1915, to the late Albartus and Harriett Elizabeth Dees. He was a lifelong resident of Hamilton County where he was a farmer and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church near Jennings. Mr. Dees was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Emma Eunie Dees in 2003. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Lamar and Shirley Dees, Oxford, Georgia; one daughter and son-in-law, Margie and Ed Patterson, Atlanta, Georgia; three grandchildren: Mike Dees, Mike Patterson and Eliza- beth Uroskie; and two great-grandchildren: Michael Dees and Bailey Dees. Funeral services were held Monday, November 14, 2005, at New Hope Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Cordero officiating. Ms. Lora Tyre played the piano for the services.
