FCCLA members from all over Florida gathered in Haines City to par- ticipate in leadership activities, attend workshops and network with other members. FCCLA, which stands for Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America, is a national vocational stu- dent organization and an integral com- ponent of family and consumer sciences classes. The organization promotes leader- ship development through personal, family, career and community activities. It is the only high school student organ- ization whose main focus is to strength- en the role of the family in society. The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce will be on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony, and Covenant Hospice will release 60 butterflies in honor of its new loca- tion and patients for whom the not-for-profit organization has cared.
