A list of dilapidated houses which ran in last Friday's edition of the Floridan contained an error for which the city of Marianna has taken responsibility. The city expressed apologies to William F and Tambra M. Hicks, the owners of the structure at 4097 Edgewood Drive. That property was on the list but is not dilapidated. A city staff member said the property likely got on the list by mistake because it was being used as a marker to identify the actual dilapidated property across the street, which did not have a visible address. The parcel that should have been listed belongs to Milton Insurance Company and is numbered 05-4N-10-0184-00AO-0250. The Jackson County Floridan strives to make sure content in the newspaper is accurate and factual. When the Floridan learns that it has made an error it is our policy to correct the mistake promptly. To report an error, please call the newsroom at 526-3614 Monday-Friday.
