 Season tickets for the
2008-09 Chipola Artist
Series go on sale Tuesday,
Sept. 2, in the college
Business Office located in
the Student Services
Building or by phoning 850-

 The highly-acclaimed
four-event series opens Sept.
22 with "Vienna to
Broadway" presented by the
Jacksonville Lyric Opera
Company. "Vienna to
Broadway" includes high-
lights of operetta, grand
opera, and classic Broadway
favorites performed by a
quartet of gifted soloists and
their superb accompanist.
Titles include The Merry
Widow, Die Fledermaus, La
Boheme, La Traviata, The
Student Prince, Show Boat
and Carousel. The show fea-
tures musical staging reflect-
ing the historical period of
each piece, supported by
seamless transitions from
number to number. Stylish
costumes and colorful scenic
projections will add to the
audience's enjoyment of this
musical presentation. Vienna
to Broadway is produced in
association with Opera
Management Corporation,
New York City.
 "An Appalachian
Christmas," presented by the
Atlanita Pops Orchestra
will delight audience mem-
bers at Chipola, Monday,
Dec. 8. Perfect for the holi-
day season, the Atlanta Pops
Orchestra's 2008 holiday
tour of "An Appalachian
Christmas" creates the feel-
ing of a small community at
Christmas time with a
diverse program including
traditional and not so tradi-

Covenant Hospice offers
monthly grief support group
 SPECIAL TO THE FLORIDAN
 Feelings of grief and loss can be overwhelming. For this rea-
son, Covenant Hosliice will be offering a monthly grief support
group from 9 to 11 a.m., on the last Thursday of every month, in
Blountstown at the, Calhoun County Senior Citizens
Association, located at 16859 NE Cayson Street. Those who
attend will have the opportunity to explore their grief in a safe
and caring environment.
 The first meeting will begin on Thursday, Aug. 28. Light
refreshments will be served. The support group is free, but reg-
istration is required.

 Celebrating 25 years of keeping the promise, Covenant
Hospice is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing
comprehensive, compassionate services to patients and loved
ones during times of life-limiting illnesses. The focus of
Covenant Hospice is to enable its patients to live as fully and
comfortably as possible, to provide dignified palliative care, to
assist patients' loved ones.in coping with end-of-life issues and
the eventual death of the patient, and to improve care for all
patients at the end of their lives by example and education.
