Tampa, Florida April 27, 2011 Dear Patrick, United States History (which I taught for some years in high school) exposed me to very pertinent facts about our country. This limited knowl- edge gave me a measure of license to venture some gen- eralizations on the subject. Among these is one of my fa- vorites dealing with a current American self-imposed issued I express it like this: The United States of Ameri- ca is populated by people who came here from someplace else. who in turn are discom- forted when people come here from someplace else. I have never heard so much talk about a subject that is so very much a part of our histo- ry. Undoubtedly the one char- acteristic that truly identifies Americans; the one thing that is true of all who live here is that we are all children of immigration. So heavily has the subject soaked my small brain that I (like Don Quijote de La Mancha with knight er- rantry) have become obsessed to the point of deluding myself into believing that I have been contacted via air mail by im- portant heads of state. While in a very deep sleep a few days ago; an angel appeared to me in a vision. He was wearing a U.S. Post Office uniform, all in mailman blues, except for the wings. After placing two let- ters in the in-box on my desk, he winked at me and then went aloft into the moonlit sky. I read them immediately. When I awoke there were no letters to show but here is the essence of what I recall: My Dear Joaquin, We have a most perplexing problem in our country. Per- haps your profound intellect and universal knowledge of all things can provide our people some path to take out of this quagmire. They take our jobs, breed children by the hundreds, pay no taxes and increase crime all result- ing in extreme pressure on services and enormous costs to our government. These il- legal aliens are changing our culture with their food, reli- gion, customs. . and worse of all, threaten to contaminate the very purity of our beloved race (is there nothing sacred?) by mixing their Caucasian blood with our sacred Mongo- lian juices! Cortez, S.O.B (H de P) leader of the Hispanics is sleeping with one of "our" women and even had the gall to re-name her "Dona Marina." A similar letter read more or less the same except that this one was written close to 100 years later signed by one Powhatan, Chief of the Al- gonquians in what was later called "North America." He too was complaining about Euro- peans who were taking over somewhat like the Hispanics long before. As I recall, he said something like this: "Those damned Anglo-Sax- ons, especially some bastard named 'John Smith' (funny name) is having an affair with my own daughter, Pocahon- tas! The purity of our Mongo- lian blood will be infected with Caucasian and create a na- tion of half breeds! They even dance around a different to- tem pole. Is there nothing sa- cred?l Why don't they go back where they came from?" Powhatan, Chief of the Al- gonquian, Circa, April 1, 1615 Sincerely, Jack Espinosa multiple views and dimensions.
