NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETINGS AND PUBLIC HEARING PROPOSED SERVICE CHANGES FOR JULY AND NOVEMBER 2009 The Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority (HART) will hold public meetings and a public hearing to discuss proposed service changes. The meetings and hearing will be conducted in an open house format, and will be held: Public Meeting Monday, May 11; 3:30 6 p.m. SouthShore Regional Service Center 410 30th Street S.E., Ruskin Public Meeting Thursday, May 13, 3:30 6 p.m. University Area Transit Center 13110 N. 27th Street, Tampa Public Meeting Monday, May 18, 3:30 6 p.m. Town 'N Country Regional Library 5455 W. Waters Avenue, Meeting Room A, Tampa Public Hearing Wednesday, May 20, 3:30 6:30 p.m. Marion Transit Center 1211 N. Maripn Street, downtown Tampa The purpose of the meetings and-hearing is to give individuals and/or groups an opportunity to present their views and comments on proposed changes in service that would take effect this July and November if approved. JULY 2009 PROPOSED SERVICE CHANGES Route 2 Nebraska Avenue Weekday time changes. Saturday and Sunday southbound departure.times from UATC would leave 10 minutes earlier to provide connectivity with routes serving the downtown area. Route 8 Progress Villaee/Brandon Weekday service time changes and elimination of last three late trips in both directions. Early morning trip on Saturday/Sunday from Westfield Brandon to downtown would be added to allow arrival downtown before 8 a.m. Route 15 Columbus Drive Weekday service would go from 45-minute frequency to 60-minute frequency. Saturday and Sunday would have the same service hours. Time changes for all service. Route 18 30th Street A 5:40 a.m. southbound trip would be added to weekday service. Route 19 Port Tampa Northbound 8:50 a.m. trip from O'Brien and Idaho would be changed to 8:40 a.m. Route 30 Town 'N Countrv Time adjustments to shorten layover at Westshore Plaza. Route 32 Dr. Martin Luther Kin2. Jr. Boulevard Frequency of service east of the Netpark Transfer Center would be changed from 30 minutes to 60 minutes on weekdays. Route 37 Brandon/Netpark Weekday frequency would be changed from 45 minutes to 60 minutes. Route 45 UATC/Rome Ave./Westshore Plaza Sunday southbound departure times would be adjusted five minutes later to match Saturday service. Route 88 Town 'N Countrv Connector Route would be eliminated due to low ridership. Route 22X Dover/Brandon Express Westbound 6 a.m. trip would be eliminated. Route 24X- FishHawk/Riverview/MacDill AFB Express Westbound 4:15 a.m. "early bird".. trip would be eliminated. Route 25X- South Brandon/MacDillAFB Express Westbound 4:05 a.m. "early bird" trp would be eliminated. * Route 27X- FishHawk/South Brandon Express Westbound 6:10 a.m. trip would be eliminated; departure time on second morning trip would be changed from 6:30 a.m. to 6:20 a.m. Route 47LX SouthShore Limited Express Short morning and afternoon trips (Gibsonton Wal-Mart to downtown) would be eliminated; 5:45 a.m. departure would change to 6:00 a.m. and 4:35 p.m. departure would change to 4:40 p.m. Route 59LX Westchase/Town 'N Countrv Limited Express Departure time from Marion Transit Center on 5:30 p.m. trip would change to 5:15 p.m.; departure time from Tri-County Business Park on 6:36 p.m, trip would change to 6:21 p.m. destinations. Passengers would be able to access other stops through a reservation. Service to the Westfield Brandon mal, which is now provided by Route 35LX on two daily trips, would be replaced through a timed connection between the flex service and an extended Route 31 at the SouthShore Regional Service Center. NOVEMBER 2009 PROPOSED SERVICE CHANGES Route 6 56th Street Weekday frequency during peak moving and afternoon service hours would increase from 30 minutes to 20 minutes. Potential route realignment in the 49th Street and Melbourne Boulevard area to save travel time. Route 39 Busch Boulevard Route would travel on Busch Boulevard between 50th Street and 56th Street instead of going onto Temple Heights Road to remove segment that is difficult for large buses to navigate. Route 46 Davis Islands/West Brandon Service would be re-routed to Marion Transit Center to eliminate Davis Islands and Tampa General Hospital stops. Route 19. provides much higher level of service to the hospital. NOVEMBER 2009 PROPOSED NORTH TAMPA REORGANIZATION* Route 1 Florida Avenue Route would be extended north of Fletcher Avenue to serve an area northwestof the University Area Transit Center. Route 2 Nebraska Avenue Route would travel directly to the University Area Transit Center from Nebraska Avenue along Fletcher. The changes to Routes 1 and 2 would -reposition them to better support the North-South BRT line, which will begin construction next year. Route 36 Dale Mabrv/Himes Avenue Route would be extended to serve the new St. Joseph's Hospital North on Van Dyke Road. The extension would replace Route 33 on Dale Mabry Highway north of Fletcher Avenue, shortening Route 33. Route 33 Fletcher Avenue & Route 83 Universitv Area Connector Routes would be merged to create a single local route, enhancing services to the North University area by providing direct one-seat seven-day service along Fletcher Avenue between Nebraska Avenue and Dale Mabry Highway. *Reorganization of North Tampa service is dependent upon the expected January 2010 opening of St. Joseph's Hospital North. Should the hospital opening be delayed, North Tampa reorganization would be postponed until Spring 2010. .Maps of the proposed changes are available at all HART customer service centers, on the HART website (www.goHART.org) or by mail.
